Swiss Art Award 09, Basel, 2009 Claire de lune, 2009 Plaster in powder, iron, wood, light bulb Variable dimensions After all these centuries, the moon remains a mediated experience, and for this it would not deserve being defined experience. All we know of this satellite is thanks to archives of photos, hours of observations, some finds, and the testimony of few people to who it remains wrapped like fog the suspicion that the moon-landing has been interpreted on some cinematographic set. This is perhaps the void the more intriguing which can cling to the things. If the mediation loses truth that place reappears where to the things of the world it is possible to give again a sense. A mediated experience is a little like the thought experience: until we are limited to this, it is a little like persist in design forms in the powder. |
